WELCOME TO ICMPHP - 2012
We extend a cordial invitation to the "4th International Conference on Medicinal Plants & Herbal Products" [ICMPH-4] AYURMEDICA 2012 (Herbal Expo-2012)  which is scheduled between 6th  to 8th  September 2012.at Johns Hopkins University  Montgomery County Campus, 9601 Medical Center Drive,  Rockville, MD 20850, USA. This conference is jointly organized by  School of Medicine and Health Sciences, The George Washington University, Washington DC in collaboration with International Council for Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (ICMAP), S.V.University, India and  University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, with the support of  Biotechnology Center, Maryland, USA, Embassy of India, Washington D.C., Amarex Clinical Research, Gennova Biopharmaceuticals Ltd, India. The aim of the Conference  is to provide a platform for eminent researchers, academicians, physicians, traditional medical practitioners, manufacturers & exporters of herbal products, representative of the corporate sector, marketing consultants and NGOs from all over the world.
Maryland Biotechnology Center, Maryland 
The Maryland Biotechnology Center was created in 2009 by Governor Martin O'Malley as one of the first initiatives of BioMaryland 2020- the State Strategic Plan for Life Sciences delivered by the Maryland Life Sciences Advisory Board. The Center is the portal to programs and resources intended to grow and strengthen the State's bioscience community.
International Council For Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (ICMAP) 
ICMAP is an international non-governmental body with the general objective of promoting international understanding and cooperation between national and international organizations on the role of medicinal and aromatic plants in science, medicine and industry, and to improve the exchange of information between them. This Council coordinates, and stimulates cooperation between partners by providing a forum for mobilizing ideas, actions, discussions, long term visions, and measures in education and training in all fields related to these plants that play such an important part in the lives of human beings throughout the world.

Instructions for Submitting Abstracts:
The organizers of the 4th International Conference on Medicinal Plants & Herbal Products invite submission of scientific abstracts for short oral presentation or for poster presentation. The deadline for submission of abstracts for both the oral and poster presentation is July 31st, 2012. Notification of acceptance will be communicated as soon as possible. It is preferred that abstracts be submitted in electronic format.

Submissions by fax WILL NOT BE accepted. Abstracts may be submitted for either oral or poster presentation. Oral presentation should be ten minutes including questions and answers.
Please adhere to the following format and submit all abstracts electronically. Use a typeface no smaller than 12 points on a single 8½ x 11-inch page. Each abstract should include the following:
1)     Title of paper: Use all caps and include the name(s) of the group, if any. 
2)     Use upper and lower case. Include all authors in same paragraph as title, then affiliations, city, state, and country. 
3)    The abstract should include a) a single sentence describing the purpose, b) brief description of procedures, c) results, and d) conclusions. Tables may be used.
In a cover letter or email accompanying your abstract submission indicate whether the presentation format you desire is for oral presentation or poster presentation. Be sure to include your complete contact information and a statement that if accepted you agree to make your presentation in Johns Hopkins University  at the place and time designated by the organizers of the Conference.
REGISTRATION
All participants are requested to register for the conference by sending the filled-in Registration Form along with prescribed fee on or before July 31st , 2012 to  icmphp4@gmail.com

REGISTRATION POLICIES
Cancellation on or before July 31st, 2012 are fully refundable less a $100 processing fee.
No refund for cancellation on or after July 31st , 2012 .
Registration may be transferred to a substitute if the original registrant cannot attend.
Portions of this conference may be videotaped, photographed, and web-casted by the conference and media. By attending this conference, you acknowledge that you may be videotaped or photographed or web-casted.
Visa Information & Letters of Invitation
Participants from outside the United States may need to apply for a visa at the American Embassy, consulate, or other visa-issuing office in their country of origin. Please begin your visa application process immediately after registering for the conference  as some applications can take several months to process. Many visa issuing offices require that you present a letter of invitation to the conference along with your visa application.

Student Awards
Two (2) $250 cash awards for excellence in student posters will be offered by the Conference.
If you would like to enter your poster in the competition, you may do that on site at the Registration Booth at the beginning of the conference.  Ask for a colored dot at the Registration booth and place it on your poster.
Posters will be judged anonymously by an international panel of senior scientists using the following criteria:
1)   Presence of clear hypotheses and experimental designs that will render meaningful conclusions
2)   Significance or originality of the subject addressed
3)   Statistically significant and/or intellectually and scientifically aesthetic findings
4)   Insight derived from the observations or resolution of hypotheses
5)   Clarity of visual and descriptive presentation of the work.
Awards will be given at the concluding session on September 8th  2012.
AWARDS
Scientists, Herbalists, Herbal Medical Practitioners/ Manufacturers, Medicinal Plant Conservators and Biotechnologists will be honorued with the following awards: 1) Merit of Excellence Award; 2) Traditional Medicine Practitioner Award   3) Talented Scientist Award; 4) Talented Medical Practitioner Award 5) Talented Conservator Award 6) Talented Biotechnologists Award 7) Outstanding Herbal Medical Formulator Award 8) Talented Pharmacologist Award 9) The Best Ayurvedic Practitioner Award, and 10) Young Scientist Award (Age below 40). The selection will be done by the Scientific Committee. Nominations for all the above awards should be sent via E-mail to icmphp4@gmail.com  using the prescribed form on or before July 31st, 2012 along with passport photos, a brief curriculum vitae and an article (about 1,000 words) stating the nominees contribution which merit him/her receiving the award. WEB CASTING :
ICMPHP4-2012 will web cast all the programmes and the events associated with it through web-casting “Distance is no longer a barrier to bring awareness on Medicinal Plants" using Internet technology to bring awareness even in the remote parts of the world. Please join the web casting by sending your registration forms E-mail to icmphp4@gmail.com. All the registered delegates can participate & present their paper through web casting. Topics and speakers will be listed in our website and circulated by E-mail to the interested/registered participants only. Delegates will have to join web-casting five minutes before the scheduled time. Using Access Code provided to registered delegates, so that we can start the web-cast without much trouble. Please note that the ICMPHP4 is not responsible for Internet failures or power cuts during the web cast.

The Organisers of the Conference do not provide insurance and do not take responsibility for any loss, accident or illness that might occur during the Conference or in the course of travel to or from the meeting site.
